RoadPermit Privacy Policy
The short version
- There is no account and no sign-up. We do not ask for your name, email or phone number.
- The app has no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. It does not send your data to us or to anyone else.
- Your progress, answers and settings are stored on your phone only.
- We do not sell or share your data, because we do not collect it.
What stays on your phone
So the app can remember you and work offline, it saves these in its private storage on your device: the state or territory and test type you chose (car, motorcycle, CDL or senior), your XP, streak, hearts and daily goal, lessons you have finished, which questions you have answered, missed or saved, a lesson you have started but not finished, your mock test results, and your reminder setting. This data is never uploaded. It is removed when you tap Reset my progress in Profile or uninstall the app.
Permissions and why we ask
- Location (optional, only when you tap "Find my state automatically"): your phone is asked for your approximate location once so the app can work out which state you are in. The location is used on the device to pick a state. It is not stored and not sent to us. Depending on your phone's operating system, the system's own location services may look up the place name; that is handled by Apple or Google under their policies. You can skip this and choose your state by hand.
- Notifications (optional): only if you switch on the daily reminder in Profile. We ask for permission at that moment. The reminder is scheduled on your phone; no server sends it and no push token is collected. Turn it off in Profile or in your phone's settings at any time.
- Vibration / haptics: a small tap when you answer a question. It needs no personal data.
The app does not use your camera, microphone, contacts, photos or files.
Links to official handbooks
After you answer, the app can show a "See the handbook" link. Tapping it opens the official state page in a web view or your browser. That website is run by someone else and has its own privacy policy. The app itself sends nothing when you tap the link, but the site you open can see your visit, as with any web page.
Third parties
RoadPermit contains no advertising, analytics or crash-reporting services. The app stores (Apple App Store and Google Play) handle downloads and any purchase or device information under their own policies. The app is free and has no in-app purchases.
Not affiliated with any government agency
RoadPermit is an independent study tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or connected to any state Department of Motor Vehicles or other government body. Questions are written from official driver handbooks and each state question links to the page it came from, but laws and tests change. Always check your state's current official handbook before your test. The app cannot promise that you will pass.
Children
The app is a general study tool and collects no personal information from anyone, including children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Your choices
- Remove all app data at any time with Reset my progress in Profile, or by uninstalling the app.
- Turn off location or notifications in your phone's Settings. Everything else keeps working.
- Because we hold no account or personal profile for you, there is nothing to export or delete on our side. If you have a question or a request, use the contact form and we will respond.
Changes and contact
If this policy changes, we will update the date above and publish the new version here, and for significant changes tell you in the app. Questions: use the contact form at azrscorp.com/contact. This policy is separate from the AZRS Corp website privacy policy, which covers the website itself.
