It’s only been a few months since YouTube Premium’s price in the US went up , and now we’re getting wind of yet another looming price increase. While April 2026’s hike raised the subscription price from $13.99 to $15.99, fresh reports suggest YouTube could also increase subscription prices in Europe by the end of October 2026.

According to reports on Reddit and the ResetEra forum , YouTube could be preparing a price hike just a few months after rolling out new prices across its Premium plans in the US. The change will likely come in the next couple of months and will affect both individual and family plans across various European countries.

The price will reportedly go from €17.99 to €20.99 per month for the individual plan and €29.99 for the family plan, up from $25.99 per month. Apparently, these changes are reflected in emails sent out to users in Portugal and Italy. But in some countries like Finland, users report receiving emails of a price increase from €14.99 to €16.99 per month for the individual plan.

While these user reports are primarily from Europe, it’s unlikely that these changes will affect users in the US. As previously noted, YouTube Premium’s price in the US went up a few months ago, but prices across Europe have reportedly remained unchanged since 2024 . Still, if the new prices do arrive, they’ll likely affect users across multiple platforms, be it Android, iOS, or the web, but we’ll have to wait for the official rollout to verify these reports.

There’s no doubt YouTube Premium is one of the best things that ever happened to many of us. Once you are in, there’s hardly ever any turning back from the associated perks, especially background music, downloads, access to YouTube Music Premium, and most importantly, having no ads. Perhaps this is why Google can increase prices within months and never bat an eye, but that might be changing .

In fact, some already felt YouTube Premium wasn’t worth paying for even before the price increase back in April. We’ve also seen a handful of reports of users canceling subscriptions following this latest round of emails. But whether this hike eventually pushes more people to ditch YouTube Premium for other alternatives remains to be seen.
