Watch Later is one of those YouTube features you don’t appreciate until it stops working. It is the easiest way to stash a video you don’t have time for, build a queue for later, or simply keep track of something you don’t want to lose. So, having videos mysteriously disappear from the playlist over the past few weeks has understandably been frustrating for some users. The good news is that YouTube says the problem is now fixed.

YouTube confirmed the fix in a forum post earlier today, telling affected users that all their videos should now display correctly in their playlists, including Watch Later on the YouTube app.

YouTube forum and Reddit reports shed more light on how the bug played out, where some could open Watch Later on their phones but saw only a portion of their saved videos. Other users got a ‘playlist does not exist’ or ‘No results found’ error when trying to access the playlist.

The problem was particularly painful for users with large Watch Later collections. A Reddit user said their playlist contained around 1,100 videos but could only scroll through roughly 50 on mobile. On desktop, the same playlist appeared to be completely broken. Another user said their Watch Later playlists had disappeared across their phone, computer, and Roku.

YouTube hasn’t explained what caused the problem or whether the fix requires a new app update. Its confirmation simply says the issue is fixed, so the change may have been handled on the backend.

Still, if your playlists haven’t returned to normal, it’s worth checking that you’re running the latest version of the YouTube app. For anyone who spent the past few weeks wondering where their carefully curated Watch Later collection went, the missing videos should now be back where they belong.
