Voyager Technologiesโ€™ stock surged more than 70% this week after the aerospace company reported strong second-quarter growth, pushing its shares to record highs.

The jump came after Voyager announced a 51% revenue increase from the previous quarter, reaching $52.7 million. The company also secured a record $113 million in new bookings, lifting its total backlog to $335.5 million as of June 30. Much of that momentum stems from national security demand, including a $84 million boost from the Trump Administrationโ€™s Golden Dome missile defense project. Voyager also strengthened its ties to NASA by completing its acquisition of Astrobotic, a move that positions the company for future lunar lander programs. CEO Dylan Taylor called it โ€œa generational opportunityโ€ driven by expanding defense budgets and accelerating space investment.

Voyagerโ€™s rapid growth stands out even amid broader market volatility. Revenue is now expected to jump 66% to 84% this year, reaching $275 million to $305 million. The company also beat earnings expectations, posting an adjusted loss of $41 millionโ€”better than the $0.91-per-share loss analysts had predicted. Still, Voyager remains unprofitable as it plows cash into cutting-edge technologies like advanced propulsion systems and resilient space architectures. Defense giant RTX recently awarded Voyager a contract to supply propulsion tech for the Standard Missile-3 and next-generation interceptor programs, underscoring its role in critical military systems.

The surge reflects investor confidence in Voyagerโ€™s positioning at the intersection of national security and the space economy. Taylor argues the company is built for a moment when defense spending and commercial space investment are both accelerating. Yet not all analysts are convinced. The Motley Foolโ€™s Stock Advisor listโ€”known for spotting long-term winners like Nvidia and Netflix earlyโ€”did not include Voyager, suggesting some caution remains. For now, the market is betting big on Voyagerโ€™s ability to turn growing demand into future profits, even if the path to profitability is still years away.
