Warner Bros. has turned to artificial intelligence to plug its new sci-fi film โThe End of Oak Street,โ teaming with the AI dog podcast โDogPackโ for a 90-second spot voiced by synthetic golden retriever Goldie and synthetic French bulldog Frenchie.
The stunt drops a fake interview with Starbuck, the on-screen dog played by Anne Hathaway and Ewan McGregor, who apparently โwas excellent with treatsโ according to the AI hosts. The pod is a one-off feed, but the idea points to how Hollywood is racing to use AI voices and avatars in marketing, often without fanfare.
Warnerโs campaign lands on DogPack, a platform best known for playful, pet-centric content. AI voices are cheap, fast, and controllableโuseful when live talent is scarce or expensive. The studio hasnโt said if it will reuse the clips in paid ads, but the novelty angle is clear: a dog pod is far less intrusive than a pop-up ad.
Next up, expect more AI-driven promotions as studios chase viral lift on niche apps. The technique could spread quickly if it drives engagement without the backlash of deepfake actors.
