Timekettle’s latest pair of AI interpreter earbuds is built for two-way, face-to-face conversation and makes it feel natural at every stage. You wear one earbud, the person you’re talking to wears the other, and you each just talk. No one has to hold a phone between you and wait for a translator app to catch up. The W4 Plus and the Timekettle’s latest software package are making their debut here at IFA 2026. Here’s what you need to know.

The W4 Plus’ big selling point is One-on-One mode. You speak, the other person hears your words translated into their language almost immediately, and vice versa, with adjustable translation speed and a choice of male or female voice output. You don’t need to pass a phone back and forth or keep glancing down at a screen mid-sentence. The real-time translation feature is obviously fantastic. But just the fact that you can look at the person you’re talking to makes a world of difference in any conversation.

This focus on natural back-and-forth shows up throughout the rest of the feature set. Translation Refinement and Conversation Memory let the W4 Plus use what’s already been said earlier in a conversation to inform how later sentences get translated, instead of treating every sentence like new.

A word can carry different meanings depending on what was just said, and the ability to understand context is huge. Say you’re negotiating a contract and a specific term comes up early on. Conversation Memory is what keeps that term translated consistently when it’s said again twenty minutes later, instead of drifting into different phrasing.

The headline upgrade in the W4 Plus is AI Specialized Translation, part of the upgraded Babel OS 3.0 software. Instead of one general-purpose translation model trying to handle every kind of conversation, the W4 Plus lets you select from five specialized translation domains before a conversation starts. This includes categories like General, Tech & Internet, Manufacturing & Industry, New Energy & Green Tech, and Biotech & Pharma.

General-purpose translation tends to struggle with industry-specific jargon and shorthand terms that professionals use every day but that don’t have obvious equivalents in another language. A sales call about tech supply chains, a factory-floor conversation about a manufacturing issue, or a discussion between researchers in biotech all rely on vocabulary that a standard translation model can’t handle.
