Nothing plans to significantly expand its smartphone offerings, aiming to launch twice as many devices in 2027 as it did in 2026. Co-founder Akis Evangelidis shared this ambitious goal during an interview with Times Now Tech. If the company's projections hold true, that could mean the release of up to six smartphones next year, building on this year's lineup of three models, including the Phone 4a and Phone 4a Pro.

This announcement arrives at a time when the tech industry faces challenges, particularly a surge in memory prices affecting smartphone manufacturing. Evangelidis noted that while Nothing is committed to increasing its smartphone portfolio, it has had to adapt its plans for other products, including the CMF Phone 3 Pro, which was shelved due to these rising costs. He emphasized that the company is closely monitoring memory price trends as they finalize their strategy for the upcoming year.

The company's pivot towards a broader range of smartphones contradicts earlier reports suggesting that Nothing was shifting focus to an AI-first strategy, which would prioritize smartwatches and audio products. Evangelidis did confirm that Nothing now has dedicated teams for audio and AI-native products, but he did not provide further details on how these will fit into the company's overall strategy.

Looking ahead, Nothing has additional products planned for release later this year, although specifics remain unclear. The company continues to prioritize markets like India while maintaining a strong focus on the U.S., particularly in the headphones and earbuds sector. This dual strategy indicates that Nothing is eager to capture a larger share of the smartphone market while also exploring potential growth in audio and AI technologies.
