Warhorse Studios announces 'Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2' release by March 2028

Warhorse Studios has announced that the sequel to the popular game Kingdom Come: Deliverance will be released within the next 19 months. The new title is expected to arrive sometime during the next financial year, which spans from April 1, 2027, to March 31, 2028.

This announcement comes after the original Kingdom Come: Deliverance debuted in 2018, with a follow-up planned for 2025. Earlier this year, Warhorse Studios revealed they were working on a "new Kingdom Come adventure." The confirmation of the release window by Embracer Group, Warhorse's parent company, has generated excitement among fans, many of whom expressed their eagerness on social media platforms like Reddit.

Fans have praised the faster turnaround time between the first and second games, noting that the studio seems to have improved its understanding of the game engine and development process. “Great turnaround time compared to 1 to 2,” one fan noted, while another expressed more excitement for the upcoming Kingdom Come sequel than for other major titles like Grand Theft Auto. During a recent community stream, Warhorse's communications director, Tobias Stolz-Zwilling, echoed this sentiment, stating, “If everything goes right, it comes next fiscal year. Which means you don’t have to wait seven years for another Kingdom Come. That is good!”

Details about the new game remain limited. It is unclear if it will continue the story from the previous installments, but it has been confirmed that it will be an open-world role-playing game (RPG). Meanwhile, Warhorse is also developing a Lord of the Rings title, which is described as an “open world Middle-earth role-playing game.” This upcoming sequel could mark a significant moment for fans, as the studio aims to deliver a fresh experience in a beloved gaming universe.
