Gboard has a ton of handy features , and one of my favorites is the suggestions it offers in the top bar. However, sometimes I donโt need those suggestions to show up, and so far the only way to dismiss them has been to type something โ it works, but it can be quite annoying. Fortunately, Google may soon let you easily dismiss those suggestions.

In the latest version of the Gboard app (v18.0.3.954559732-beta-arm64-v8a), we spotted a simple new feature that immediately struck us as extremely useful: a dismiss button for suggestions. When this feature is enabled, Gboard will show a cross icon next to clipboard suggestions, as well as alongside the undo and redo buttons that show up in the keyboardโs top bar.
Currently, the keyboard doesnโt offer an option to dismiss these suggestions, and the only way to get rid of them is by typing something in the text field. However, the upcoming dismiss button can make that process a lot easier.
Itโs worth noting that this feature hasnโt rolled out yet. However, since itโs a simple dismiss button and it looks like itโs already fully built out, I hope Google rolls it out quickly and not as a phased rollout that takes months to reach all users.
