Philippa Northeast plays an aspiring writer in rural Australia in My Brilliant Career .

Based on the novel of the same name by Miles Franklin, the period drama follows Sybylla whose ambitions to become a writer are disrupted by a young man named Harry.

Along with Northeast, the show’s cast includes Christopher Chung, Anna Chancellor, Genevieve O’Reilly, Kate Mulvany, Jake Dunn, Alexander England, Sherry-Lee Watson and Miah Madden.

All six episodes of My Brilliant Career are available on Netflix .

The show’s score is by François Tétaz, whose previous credits include Wolf Creek , The Surfer , Thunderstruck and Rogue .
