Dolly Partonโs two classic Christmas TV specials, โDolly Partonโs Christmas of Many Colorsโ (1994) and โDolly Partonโs Christmas of Many Colors: The Story of Hollyโ (1995), are being released on DVD for the first time, with preโorders now available through the official Dolly Parton website and select retailers. The set, produced by Dolly Partonโs own production company, will hit shelves on December 4, 2026, and will feature the original broadcasts, newly restored footage, and a host of bonus material, including behindโtheโscenes interviews and commentary tracks. Fans can purchase the collection for $24.99 in a single-disc edition or $39.99 for a deluxe twoโdisc set that includes a digital download code.
The specials first aired on CBS in the midโ1990s and quickly became a holiday staple for families across America. They combined Partonโs signature country warmth with a heartโwarming narrative about a young girl named Holly who learns the true meaning of Christmas. The shows were notable for their blend of live performances, storytelling, and a small cast of supporting characters, and they earned a reputation for being both entertaining and emotionally resonant. Over the years, the specials have been rebroadcast on various networks and were recently added to Amazon Prime Video, but fans have long requested a physical format that preserves the original audio and video quality.
The DVD release is part of a broader trend of reissuing beloved holiday programming for modern audiences. The set will include a 20โminute behindโtheโscenes featurette that documents Dollyโs creative process, as well as a short interview with her daughter, Miley, who reflects on her motherโs influence on her own holiday music. According to a Rolling Stone article, the collection is expected to sell out quickly, with preโorders already exceeding 5,000 units
