Deion Sanders, head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes, relocated his team for summer training camp to Fountain Fort Carson High School. The camp, which took place 113 miles south of Folsom Field, featured a week of workouts, team bonding, and a stay at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs campus. The team also visited the U.S. Air Force Academy during this intensive week of preparation.

This annual tradition of training away from their home base aims to strengthen team chemistry and provide players with a focused environment for development. Sanders, known for his dynamic coaching style, believes that getting the team out of their usual surroundings fosters deeper connections among players. The unique location and activities are designed to uplift morale and enhance performance as the start of the season approaches.

During a practice session on Thursday, Sanders expressed his desire for NCAA regulations to permit teams to scrimmage against each other during the offseason. He recalled a previous suggestion he made when Syracuse sought to visit Boulder for a spring scrimmage. "That's something I've been suggesting for quite some time," he stated, highlighting his commitment to finding innovative ways to improve his team.

Looking ahead, if Sanders' proposal gains traction, it could change how college football teams prepare for their seasons. Enhanced offseason scrimmages would allow teams to test their skills against one another, potentially leading to improved performance during the regular season. For now, the Buffaloes are focused on maximizing their time at training camp, with hopes that the lessons learned will translate into success on the field.
