The group, led by pseudonymous researcher 0xB10C, has spent years probing Bitcoin’s code for weaknesses. Their latest tally includes 151 new vulnerabilities found in just the past month. Many of these flaws sit in lesser-known tools like transaction relays or node implementations rather than Bitcoin’s core protocol, which remains one of the most scrutinized pieces of software in the world. The rise in reported issues reflects both growing interest in Bitcoin’s infrastructure and better tools for spotting bugs—like automated fuzz testing and formal verification methods.
Some of the vulnerabilities are severe enough to allow remote code execution or fund theft, though none have been successfully exploited in the wild. Bitcoin’s decentralized nature means patches often rely on voluntary updates by wallet and node operators, which can take months—or never happen.
